The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the shortlist of documentaries that will go head to head for nominations, and ultimately the revered Oscar statue at the 2017 Academy Awards.
Highlights from the shortlist include; Weiner, the intimate profile of New York mayoral candidate Anthony Wiener as he juggled his campaign and the ongoing murk of a ‘dick-pic’ scandal, and Zero Days, the latest from Academy Award winning documentarian Alex Gibney, which investigates the future of cyber attacks and the infamous Stuxnet worm.
