HOLY SILENCE examines the actions – and inactions – of the Vatican in response to the rise of Nazi Germany and to the Holocaust that occurred during World War II. While focusing on the activities of two popes during this period – Pius XI and Pius XII – the film also concentrates on the behind-the-scenes roles of various American officials.
