The brainchild of director Alex Ross Perry who with a straight face declares Pavement to be “the world’s most important and influential band”. His genre mashup of sincere experimentalism, ironic detachment and prickly humour is the best way to pay homage to the band who flirted with mainstream popularity before skulking into underground legend.
